Introducing our Secretary General. Shriya Shastry steps into the role of Secretary General with the determination to make Shri HMUN a truly memorable conference. She brings with her a wide range of MUN experience, along with a genuine passion for the circuit. In discussions, she’s fully present—especially when it comes to global issues she deeply cares about. Beyond debating and MUNs, she’s deeply drawn to music in all its forms. Her playlists shift easily across genres, usually guided by her mood rather than any fixed pattern. When she’s not listening to music, she’s probably somewhere midway through a true crime podcast. Shriya carries a balance of discipline and spontaneity, shaped by over a decade of training in classical dance and singing. That training reflects most clearly in her eye for detail and in the consistency with which she follows through on every commitment she makes. She has a way of staying composed even when things don’t go as planned, which helps her keep perspective. Her response to most situations is something along the lines of “it is what it is,” quickly followed by a practical “we’ll figure it out,” as she shifts into problem-solving and working through whatever comes up. All in all, she hopes to make this conference an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone.
